The weaving frame
Board weaving does not need a frame/loom.
Only the warp threads need the perforated boards.
I wove my first band without any help except a stick from the forest. Frameless board weaving even has an advantage. The coils, which also form behind the boards, have more space. This allows us to turn the boards longer in one direction. We can also vary the length of the band much more.
Nevertheless, a weaving frame is very practical, even if I have to take a break, I can just leave it there. I also need a lot less space because the ribbon can wind itself over many sticks.
Weaving frames are very easy to build with few tools.
Even in the forest, you don't have to go to the hardware store to get wood.

You can find many building instructions for pretty weaving frames on the internet.
Of course, you can also order these board weaving frames online. I was inspired to build my own frame on the internet. Beforehand I drew it in 3D and measured it. In the picture below you can find the measurements and a few pictures of the construction.
The dimensions of the drawing on the left are in cm. The wooden beams have the dimensions 4.8cm x 2.8cm. The round timbers protrude 11cm from the frame and are glued. They also serve as a good fixation for the beams in the corners. Within about 3 hours the frame was finished.
Picture below right: With a small homemade clamping aid, similar to a clothes peg, and a stop, you can also drill a longer hole through a round timber.
